General Questions

Who runs this shop? The Wistful Republic is owned and operated by one person who loves and cherishes the charm and ethos of indie business. All items are imagined, made, photographed, packaged, and shipped by me. I answer all emails, list all the products, and basically do everything around here, though I have been known to enlist the help of my husband from time to time. Return to top.

Who makes this stuff? Currently, everything on this site is made by me (Sarah). I run this business from my home and make everything right here. However, I do hope to expand in the future and offer items on consignment. Return to top.

I hear you make custom buttons, mirrors, and magnets but I don't see them anywhere on your site! How should I contact you to get you to make fabulous custom things for me? I absolutely do custom buttons, mirrors and magnets and I would love to do yours! I currently sell them in my Etsy shop. All of my buttons, mirrors, and magnets are professionally laser printed and pressed using a top of the line button press for a gorgeous, professional final product. My turnaround time is typically less than a week. Return to top.

The item I want is out of stock (or I want more than the quantity you have listed). Do you have more available? This really depends on the item, but most of the time the answer is yes! Aside from limited edition buttons and (most) jewelry items, everything you find here is available in unlimited quantities. However, there is a chance that we do not have the supplies in stock. If this is the case, we will have to order more supplies which can result in a short delay. Please email me if you see something in the shop that you want more of and I will let you know if it is possible and if there is any sort of delay involved. Return to top.

Do you do custom orders? What about trades? I love to do custom orders, so generally the answer is yes, depending on what my schedule is like and what you've got in mind. If you are interested in any kind of custom order, please email me at the address listed above so we can discuss the specifics.
    As far as trades go, I love to do trades with other indie crafters and artists! If you are interested in doing a trade, please email me at the address listed above and let me know what you've got and what I have that interests you. I have what some people might consider to be Too Much Stuff already though, so I can't guarantee that I'll be able to do a trade. Payment

What forms of payment do you accept? We accept payment via PayPal. Please note: you do not have to register with PayPal to make a payment! You can pay with any major credit card through PayPal without having a PayPal account. After checkout you will be redirected to PayPal's website where you can either login if you have an existing PayPal account or you can pay via credit card without an account. Return to top.

Can I pay you some other way? Unfortunately, no. We have found that the most reliable and efficient means of payment is either through credit card or PayPal. We do not accept personal checks, money orders, or concealed cash. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Return to top.


Domestic (USA) Shipping

How much do you charge for shipping? We charge a flat rate of $5 USD for all orders. No matter where you live or how much you order, you only pay $5 USD. Return to top

When will my order ship? We ship domestic orders on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Orders received after noon EST on Saturdays will ship the following Wednesday. We will email you when your package has shipped. Return to top.

How will my order be shipped? All domestic orders are shipped via USPS first class mail or priority mail. First class and priority are essentially the same service, the only difference is that first class mail is for packages that weigh 13 ounces or less. Priority is for packages that weigh 13 ounces or more. All orders are securely packaged and mailed in a bubble mailer for safety. Return to top.

When will my order arrive? Estimated shipping time is generally only 2 to 5 days. However, we ask that you give your package at least a week to arrive before contacting us, especially around holidays. Return to top.

I need rush delivery! Can you ship my order faster? We certainly can! If you need rush delivery, please email us BEFORE you place your order. We will give you a shipping quote and, if you agree to it, we will send you an invoice. Rush delivery shipments ship via USPS Express Mail which offers next day delivery service to most destinations. The cost varies depending on the weight of your package and where you live. Generally the price is between $15-$30 USD. Return to top.

I have a question about the status of my order. Who can I talk to? If you have a question, please just email me at the address listed at the top of this page. All domestic packages are shipped with delivery confirmation which allows us to check on the status of your order via the USPS website. The information that USPS provides is not exact, so I won't be able to say, "Hey, your package is in Oklahoma, it'll be in your hands in two days!" However, I can check the status and say something along the lines of, "It left so-and-so post office two days ago and is still in transit. It should be there very soon!" Return to top.


International Shipping

When will my order ship? International orders currently ship on Saturdays only. Due to an extremely hectic schedule, this is the only time we are able to ship. When there is time in our schedule to fit in a trip to the post office during the week, your order may go out early but please don't depend on that happening because it is not a common occurrence around here! Orders received after noon EST Saturday will ship the following Saturday. We will email you when your package has shipped. Return to top.

How will my order be shipped? International orders ship via USPS international first class air mail. All orders are securely and professionally packaged and mailed in a bubble mailer for safety. Return to top.

When will my order arrive? International air mail tends to be quite speedy and efficient. Most packages are received within one week. However, due to the occasional slowness of international shipping, we ask that all international customers allow at least three weeks for delivery. Return to top.

I need rush delivery! Can you ship my order faster? We certainly can! If you need rush delivery, please email us BEFORE you place your order to ensure that we will be able to ship your order when and where and how you'd like! We will give you a shipping quote and, if you agree to it, we will send you an invoice. International rush delivery shipments can be shipped one of two ways: Global Express International or Global Express Guaranteed. The cost varies depending on which option you choose, the weight of your package and where you live. These options are not available to all countries. Generally the price is between $25-$50 USD. I Have a question about the status of my order. Who can I talk to? If you have a question, please just email me at the address listed at the top of this page. Unfortunately, USPS does not offer an affordable method of international shipping that provides a tracking number so the most we can do is package your order securely, label it clearly and send it on its way with the hope that the postal service will get it to you safely. Am I responsible for duties / custom fees? Can't you just mark my order as a gift so I don't have to pay? You are responsible for all duty and/or custom fees. These fees are NOT covered in the price of shipping and are not the responsibility of our company. We are sorry but we cannot mark your package as a gift as this is illegal. If you are concerned about duty fees, we suggest that you speak with your local post office and inquire about their fees on international shipments. Return to top.


Returns

What is your return policy? We accept returns on damaged or incorrect orders. We take great care to package items carefully but if something should arrive damaged or incorrect, please contact us within one week to discuss a return. Return to top.

What is your privacy policy? We promise to never, ever, ever sell your information to anyone. We will only use your contact information to contact you about your order and to ship your order to you. I would like to purchase your products wholesale. What should I do? I love working with other businesses and we have products in stores all over the world! Being a small business owner myself, I am always glad to work with smaller shops who can't necessarily make enormous purchases right off the bat.
